Where We Work

We work in Bwaise in three  parishes in Kawempe Division about four kilometres from Kampala city centre. This is an urban slum setting characterised by extreme poverty, unemployment, congested poor structures for homes and business, poor sanitation and related diseases, high crime rate, drug and alcohol abuse, violence, commercial sex practices and a high HIV prevalence among others.  There is also a high population movement and growth while the surroundings are mainly swampy and water logged, a situation made worse during the rainy season by floods.
