About Us
Tusitukirewamu is a membership Women’s Community Based Organisation (CBO) started in 1998 as a community initiative to address the causes and effects of domestic violence one of forms of women’s rights abuse and cause family breakage. After the realisation that domestic violence was linked to and highly accelerated the spread of HIV, the organisation was compelled to get involved in increasing community awareness on the dangers of HIV and GBV, its prevention and coping mechanisms. The organisation started with 27 members and today has 380 members and community volunteers who are responsible for overseeing and implementing programmes.
